The Guardian silicone lens gasket is designed to outlast the standard Pentair Amerlite gasket. Standard rubber gaskets typically last only for the average life of an incandescent bulb, about 2,500 hours. Guardian silicone is far more durable and designed to last for the much longer lifespan of an LED lamp, about 30,000 hours.
